Three Day Iceberg Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. large cucumbers
    2 1/2 c. lime
    1/4 lb. alum
    2 qt . white vinegar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. mixed spices
    5 lb. sugar
    water
Preparation
    First
    Day:
    7:00 a.m.\tWeigh 7 pounds large cucumbers; peel, remove
    seeds
    and cut into long sticks.
    Soak in 2 1/2 cups lime mixed with 2 gallons of water.
    Soak 24 hours.
