Apple Pie(Nanny Helen'S) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 apples
    3/4 to 1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    lemon juice
    butter (2 Tbsp.)
Preparation
    Pare, core and slice apples.
    Combine sugar, cinnamon, salt and cornstarch.
    Arrange apples in closely packed layers in pastry lined pie plate, sprinkling sugar mixture over each layer. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon lemon juice over apples.
    Dot with butter. Place top crust over filling.
    Seal with flute.
    Brush top with cream.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 375\u00b0 for 40 or 50 minutes.
