Creole Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. onion
    1/2 c. green pepper
    3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    3 c. sliced okra
    3 c. chopped tomatoes
    4 tsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Saute onion and cook green pepper in bacon drippings until tender.
    Add okra; cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes.
    Add water if needed.
