Baked Mandarins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 mandarins
butter
1/2 mandarin juice or 1/4 c. sherry
sugar
1 tsp. arrowroot
Preparation

Soak mandarins in cold water for 2 hours.
Neatly, cut off top about 1/4 down.
Loosen peel and fruit, fill all spaces with sugar, top with 1/8 teaspoon butter.
Place mandarins in baking dish filled with water to approximately 1/4-inch up side of the mandarin.
Cover with aluminum foil, bake at 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Be sure to keep the bottom of the baking dish covered with water. Remove mandarins from pan, thicken pan juices with arrowroot, flavor with juice or sherry.
Put mandarins under broiler to brown top slightly.
Serve with hot syrup.
Serves 8.
