Hash Brown Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    frozen hash browns, let thaw
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 (8 oz.) sour cream
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    2 c. sharp or mild Cheddar cheese
    salt to taste
    1/2 stick margarine
    1 pkg. crackers, crumbled (put on top of casserole; optional)
    1/2 stick margarine, melted (poured over top of casserole; optional)
Preparation
    Bake at 350\u00b0 20 to 30 minutes until bubbles real good.
