Shoney'S Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 baked pie shells
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. cornstarch (1/4 c. will do)
    6 tsp. white Karo syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. cold water
    1 pkg. strawberry Jell-O
    1/2 tsp. red cake coloring
    whipped cream
Preparation
    Bring sugar, cornstarch, syrup, vanilla and cold water to a boil and cook until thick; remove from heat.
    Add Jell-O and coloring.
    Pour over fresh strawberries that have been placed in a baked pie shell.
    Then top with whipped cream.
