Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3 c. raw peanuts
    2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    In a heavy saucepan, heat sugar, syrup, water and salt to 290\u00b0 using candy thermometer.
    Add peanuts.
    Reduce heat to medium and stir constantly.
    Cook until syrup spins a thread 300\u00b0 on thermometer, add butter, then baking soda.
    Beat rapidly with spoon and pour on a buttered surface, spreading 1/4 inch thick.
    When cool, break into pieces.
