Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. bacon drippings
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 medium onion
    1/2 red bell pepper, chopped fine
    1/2 can cream-style corn
    1/2 lb. grated cheese
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except the grated cheese.
    Pour half the batter into a large iron skillet which has been greased.
    Sprinkle grated cheese over skillet mixture and add remaining batter.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until golden brown.
