Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cabbage, chopped
    8 bell peppers, chopped (red and green)
    6 hot banana peppers, chopped
    6 large onions, chopped
    1/2 c. salt
    1/2 qt. vinegar
    1/2 box mustard seed
    2 (1 lb.) boxes light brown sugar
Preparation
    Mix vegetables with salt.
    Put in a colander and drain 4 hours.
    Heat vinegar, mustard seed and sugar until sugar dissolves.
    Mix with drained vegetables.
    Pack in pint jars and seal.
