Apple Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 c. unpeeled raw apples, chopped fine
1/2 c. melted margarine
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Sift, measure flour and resift with baking powder, salt, nutmeg, soda and sugar.
Break eggs into mixture.
Add syrup and the rest of the ingredients.
Mix as little as possible to form dough (until all ingredients are moistened).
Turn into a well-greased loaf pan.
Top with thin apple wedges, dipped in margarine, then in sugar.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 1 hour. Cover pan for the first 20 minutes of baking.
