Old-Fashioned Egg Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Separate 2 eggs and use whites for meringue.
    Beat eggs well. Mix all and pour into a 9-inch pie shell, unbaked.
    Put in cold oven.
    Turn oven to 225\u00b0 and bake 30 minutes.
    Turn up to 250\u00b0 and finish baking.
    Put meringue on and brown.
