Date-Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 egg
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped walnuts

Preparation

Let
dates
stand in boiling water with the baking soda until cold.
Cream
sugar, shortening and eggs.
Add the rest of
the ingredients.
Bake in a 9 x 12-inch pan for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
