1/2 c. Crisco shortening
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, softened
1 c. sifted powder sugar
1/2 t. salt
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 T. water
1 T. vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. finely chopped almonds
Additional sifted powdered sugar
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and butter with electric mixer until fluffy. Add powdered sugar and salt; mix well. Add next 4 ingredients, stirring well. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Slightly flatten each dough ball. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and roll in powdered sugar. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
