Orange Jello Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 large pkg. orange jello
    2 c. cold water
    1 c. grated cheese
    1 c. chopped pecans
    8 oz. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Mix pineapple and sugar; let come to a boil.
    Remove from heat and add jello and water.
    Mix well and refrigerate until it thickens.
    Add cheese, nuts and Cool Whip.
    Fold until well mixed. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Refrigerate overnight.
