Smothered Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage, quartered and chopped
    1 bunch green onions, chopped
    4 slices salt pork, chopped
    2 pickled hot peppers
    1/4 c. cooking oil
Preparation
    In pot,
    put oil and salt pork.
    Brown (fry) salt pork. In a large
    bowl
    of
    water,
    add cabbage.
    To salt pork, add cabbage, green onions, pepper
    and the drippings from cabbage. (Should be enough water.
    If
    not, add 1/4 cup of water.) Cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
    Remove
    from
    heat.
    Take
    top
    off
    or cabbage will overcook.
