Butterscotch Pie(Makes 2) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. cornstarch*
    1/2 tsp. salt
    6 egg yolks
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    12 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 c. whole milk
    4 Tbsp. margarine
    1 small pkg. butterscotch pieces
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix cornstarch, sugar, salt and milk.
    Cook over moderate heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Add a small amount to beaten yolks.
    Return to hot mixture.
    Cook 1 minute.
    Add butter, vanilla and butterscotch pieces.
    Mix well.
    Pour into baked pie shells.
