7 Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    3 or 4 carrot sticks
    1 red onion
    4 stalks celery
    1 large green pepper
    1 can (large) English peas
    1 medium jar mayonnaise
    16 oz. pkg. grated Cheddar cheese
    1 jar bacon bits
    dash of sugar
Preparation
    Place first 6 ingredients by layers in a large dish.
    Cover with mayonnaise.
    Sprinkle sugar over top of mayonnaise. Sprinkle grated cheese over this and then bacon bits over top. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours before serving.
