Ingredients

2 c. sour cherries
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. boiling water
Preparation

Mix cherries and sugar.
Let stand while preparing batter. Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Pour into greased baking dish.
Pour cherries on top of batter and pour boiling water over all.
Bake about 30 minutes at 400\u00b0.
Serve with heavy cream.
