Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla (if using grandpa's vanilla, use 1/2 tsp.)
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Put sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in a bowl and beat until creamy.
Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
Cover the bowl and put it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Set oven at 350\u00b0.
Roll out dough to 1/8-inch thickness, making sure you spread some flour down first.
Cut the dough into whatever shapes you want.
Bake the cookies on a greased cookie sheet for 7 to 9 minutes.
