Polka Daters - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. chopped dates (8 oz.)
1 c. hot water
1 c. soft margarine
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. plain flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chocolate morsels
Preparation

Mix dates and hot water, let cool.
Beat margarine, sugar and eggs together until creamy.
Sift flour and baking soda together and stir in.
Stir in date mixture, vanilla flavoring and chocolate morsels, mixing well.
Spread into greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan.
Top with chocolate morsels and chopped nuts.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
Cut into squares.
