Sheboygan Brats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. beer
    4 c. water
    1 large onion, sliced
    2 lb. uncooked pork sausages
    4 Tbsp. butter
    2 large onions, diced
Preparation
    Fill a pot halfway with beer, water and sliced onion.
    Bring to a boil.
    Plunge in sausages and simmer 20 minutes.
    If any sausages rise to surface while simmering, prick with a sharp knife.
    As sausages simmer, melt butter in skillet and saute diced onions until golden brown.
    Set aside.
    Remove sausages from water and cook on grill until crusty brown.
    Serve with sauteed onions.
