Ingredients

1 pkg. dry yeast
2 Tbsp. warm water (105~ to 115~)
5 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
2 c. buttermilk
melted butter or margarine
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.
Combine dry ingredients; cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Add yeast mixture and buttermilk to dry ingredients and mix well.
