Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
1 egg
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 small onion, grated

Preparation

Mix all ingredients and add water until mixture is thick. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Drop into hot deep fat 1 teaspoonful at a time.
Turn several times until golden brown.
