Traditional Christmas Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs, separated
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. light or whipping cream
    2 c. milk
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. vanilla
    grated nutmeg
Preparation
    Beat egg yolks and sugar until thick and light.
    Beat in cream, milk, salt and vanilla.
    Beat egg whites until they hold stiff peaks; fold into egg yolk mixture.
    Serve in chilled punch bowl; sprinkle with nutmeg. Makes 2 1/2 quarts.
