Rock Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    food coloring
    1 tsp. vanilla, 1 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract, 1/2 tsp. almond extract or few drops oil of cinnamon
Preparation
    Stir sugar, corn syrup and water over low heat until dissolved.
    Cook without stirring over high heat to the hard crack stage, 310\u00b0.
    Remove mixture from heat; add coloring and flavor. Pour mixture onto greased cookie sheet.
    When cold, break into pieces.
