Scalloped Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. crumbled shredded wheat
    3 c. sliced peaches
    2 Tbsp. butter
    4 Tbsp. lemon juice
    4 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    Melt the butter in the top of a double boiler over boiling water; add the crumbled cereal. Stir until well blended.
    Mix spices with sugar. Use a baking dish 7 x 3-inches deep.
    Cover the bottom of the dish with buttered crumbs; add a layer of peaches and sprinkle with sugar mixture. Continue until peaches are used, leaving a layer of crumbs on top.
    Add water mixed with lemon juice. Bake 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Use either canned or fresh peaches.
