Alma'S Cinnamon Apples - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
3 c. water
1/2 c. vinegar
1 c. cinnamon red hot candies

Preparation

Boil together sugar, water, vinegar and candies until candies melt (keep stirring to prevent sticking).
Add peeled and quartered apples.
Use a variety that won't turn mushy when cooked.
Amount can vary, as long as liquid covers apples adequately.
Simmer until apples are tender and some are transparent appearing (usually 20 to 30 minutes).
Keep checking. Dip out into serving dish, adding some syrup.
Serve hot or cold.
