Soft Pretzels - cooking recipe

1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. warm water
2 1/2 to 3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. salad oil
1 egg white
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. water
1 tsp. coarse salt or 1 tsp. caraway seed (or garlic salt or grated cheese)
Preparation

Beat egg white with 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon water. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water in a bowl; let stand about 10 minutes.
Add 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon salt and oil, and blend until smooth.
Gradually stir in more flour to make a soft dough (approximately 1/2 cup).
