Old-Fashioned Teacakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
2 1/2 c. sifted plain flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans (if you like)
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 Tbsp. milk
Preparation
-
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.
Cream butter, sugar and eggs.
Add vanilla, milk and dry ingredients.
Blend well.
Place dough on a lightly floured board.
Sprinkle a little flour over the dough and roll to about 1/2-inch thick.
Cut with cookie cutter.
Place on cookie sheet and bake in a moderate oven at 350\u00b0 or 375\u00b0 for about 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned on top.
This recipe does not call for pecans, but I add 1 cup chopped.
It makes them better.
