Frijoles Charros (Bean Soup)(Serves 4 To 6) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pinto beans
    salt pork or 1/2 lb. turkey ham (for low-fat)
    1 large fresh tomato
    1/2 c. cilantro
    1 c. onion
    2 to 3 pods garlic
    3 to 4 Serrano peppers
    dash of cumin
Preparation
    Cook beans, adding salt pork when done.
    In skillet, saute next 6 ingredients.
    Add to pot of beans when beans are done. (Keep beans a little juicy.)
    Cover and let set for 1 hour for seasonings to set in.
