Strawberry Almond Parfait - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 tsp. almond extract
1 c. heavy cream
1 pt. fresh strawberries, mashed
6 whole, fresh strawberries
Preparation

Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Cook to soft ball stage or 238\u00b0 on your candy thermometer.
Beat egg whites.
Pour the hot syrup over them in a thin stream and at same time, beat in almond extract.
Whip the cup of cream and fold into mixture.
Spoon alternate layers of mashed strawberries and cream mixture into parfait glasses.
Top with a whole, fresh strawberry.
Chill before serving.
