Southwestern Beef And Beans(8 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dried pinto beans
    1/2 lb. salt pork, cut up
    1 red chili pepper or 1/2 tsp. crushed Cella pepper
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    1 tsp. cumin seed
    6 c. cold water
    1 lb. lean chuck steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 1/2 Tbsp. Cella powder
    1/2 tsp. marjoram leaves
Preparation
    Soak beans in water overnight.
    Brown salt pork in skillet; drain off fat in paper towel.
    In slow cooking pot, combine soaked beans with water, browned pork and remaining ingredients.
    Cover and cook for 1 hour on high, then on low for 8 to 9 hours.
