Kubie (Syrian Meat Loaf) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. ground beef
1 c. cracked wheat
1 Tbsp. butter
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Soak 1 cup cracked wheat in 3 cups hot water and set aside. Mix onion, salt, pepper and spices with ground beef.
Drain excess water off cracked wheat.
Add cracked wheat to meat mixture and mix well.
Grease a 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
Press mixture into pan. Dip a sharp knife into cool water and cut into diamond shape pieces.
In three different places, make holes with a spoon and pour a little oil in each hole.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
You can use 1/2 lamb and 1/2 beef or you could use all lamb, if you'd like.
