Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter and lard, mixed
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. molasses
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Mix butter and lard, sugar, egg and molasses until smooth.
    Add dry ingredients, blending well.
    Add hot water and beat until smooth.
    Bake in a shallow pan at 350\u00b0 for 40 or 45 minutes.
