Ingredients

sweet red or green peppers
2/3 c. milk
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
vegetable oil (for deep frying)
Preparation

Wash peppers; remove stems, seeds and fleshy ribs.
Cut into 1/4-inch rings.
Heat oil, 1-inch, to 375\u00b0 in large saucepan or French fryer.
Beat remaining ingredients with rotary beater until smooth. Dip each ring into batter, letting excess drip into bowl. Fry a few at a time in hot oil for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
