Family Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. boneless stew meat
    1/3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. cooking oil
    2 1/4 c. water
    3 medium onions, sliced
    4 medium potatoes, cut in cubes
    5 medium carrots, quartered
    1 1/2 c. frozen peas
Preparation
    Cut beef into 1 1/2-inch cubes.
    Combine flour, salt and pepper.
    Coat beef cubes with mixture.
    Brown meat thoroughly in hot oil in a large heavy skillet or Dutch oven.
    Sprinkle remaining seasoned flour over meat.
    Stir well.
    Add water and cover.
    Simmer for 2 to 3 hours, until meat is tender.
    Add onions, potatoes and carrots; simmer, covered, for 15 minutes. Add peas and simmer until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
