Grated Potato Pudding(Kugelis) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. potatoes
    1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
    1 onion
    1/2 c. water
    1 slice white bread
    2 eggs
    1/4 lb. butter or margarine
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Dice onion.
    Saute with 1/2 cup of water until onion is transparent and water has evaporated.
    Stir melted butter (or margarine) into this mixture.
    Soak 1 slice white bread in the evaporated milk until completely saturated, stirring to bread it up.
    Set aside.
    Grate potatoes.
    (Shredding with food processor works well.)
    Add all ingredients and mix well.
    Pour into well-greased pan and bake 10 minutes in preheated oven at 400\u00b0. Lower temperature to 350\u00b0 and continue baking for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
