Grandma'S Casserole - cooking recipe

1 c. chopped onion
1 green pepper, cut in strips
2 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 qt. or 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
2 c. water
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (8 oz.) pkg. wide noodles
1 (8 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella, sliced
Preparation

In Dutch oven, saute onion and pepper in butter for 3 minutes. Add beef; brown, breaking up meat as it cooks.
Add seasoned salt, pepper and sugar.
Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce and water. Heat mixture to boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. In a 9 x 13-inch pan, place wide noodles, then tomato-meat mixture.
Top with Mozzarella cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil; bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes.
Cut and serve as you would lasagne.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
