Molasses Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. boiling milk
1 c. rolled oats (quick or old fashioned)
1 Tbsp. shortening
1/3 c. dark molasses
1 tsp. salt
2 pkg. active dry yeast
1/2 c. water (105~ to 115~)
4 1/2 to 5 c. bread flour or all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. molasses (for glaze)
Preparation

In a large bowl, pour milk over rolled oats.
Add shortening, molasses and salt.
Let cool to lukewarm.
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water; add to cooled oat mixture.
Stir in flour to make a stiff dough.
On floured board, knead dough until smooth and satiny, adding flour as needed.
Place dough in large bowl.
Cover; let rise in warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. Turn dough onto lightly oiled surface.
Divide in half.
Shape each half into a loaf.
