Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 lb. pickles
    1 pt. vinegar
    1 pt. water
    1/2 pt. vinegar
    1/2 pt. water
    1 1/2 lb. sugar
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Slice pickles.
    Let stand in salt water overnight; drain. Heat in 1 pint vinegar and 1 pint water until they turn yellow. Drain.
    Pack in jars.
    Boil last 4 ingredients for 4 minutes, then pour over the pickles in jar and seal.
