Jessie Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick oleo
    2 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Melt oleo in saucepan; turn off heat.
    Add brown sugar and stir well, but do not cook.
    Remove from heat; add eggs and mix.
    Add flour, baking powder and nuts; mix well.
    Spread mixture into greased and floured 9 x 12-inch baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Cool; then cut into squares.
