Kahlua - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. packed dark brown sugar
    1/2 c. instant coffee
    3 c. vodka
    1/2 vanilla bean, split and cleaned
Preparation
    Combine sugar and 2 cups water; bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes.
    Gradually stir in coffee, using a wire whip.
    Cool; add vodka and vanilla bean.
    Pour into a large jar.
    Cover; let stand at least 3 weeks.
    Remove vanilla bean and enjoy.
