Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. soft shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 sq. (2 1/2 oz.) melted, unsweetened chocolate
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream ingredients together until fluffy.
Beat 5 minutes. Blend in chocolate.
Sift dry ingredients and mix in alternately with buttermilk.
Pour into 2 greased 9-inch round pans or one 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
Frost with chocolate butter icing.
