Madeira Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs
    5 oz. margarine
    rind and juice of 1 lemon
    5 oz. sugar
    2 c. flour
    pinch of salt
    slice of citron peel
Preparation
    Cream the sugar and margarine.
    Add the eggs, flour and salt alternatively.
    Fold in the rind and juice of lemon.
    Put into a prepared 6 inch cake tin and bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 3/4 hours.
    When cake has been in the oven for 20 minutes, take a slice of citron peel (making sure it is slightly warm) and place on top of cake. Bake for the remainder of the time.
