Frances' Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. sweet potatoes or yams
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    4 Tbsp. margarine
    4 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Peel sweet potatoes.
    Carefully slice lengthwise into slab about 1/2-inch thick.
    Heat butter and margarine in large frying pan.
    Place a single layer of potato slices into pan.
    Sprinkle with sugar and turn over.
    Fry sugar side down until brown. Sprinkle with sugar; turn potatoes and fry other side until brown.
