Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c sugar
1/4 c white corn syrup
3/4 c water
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 t vanilla
1/2 broken nuts

Preparation

Stir until sugar is dissolved then cook without stirring to 252 degrees or hard ball stage.
Remove from heat and pour, beating constantly into egg whites.
Continue beating until mixture holds its' shape and loses its' gloss.
Add vanilla and nuts.
Drop quickly onto waxed paper or spread on greased pan. Yield 1 1/4 pounds.
