Sliced Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 c. thinly sliced cucumbers (with peelings on)
    2 c. onions, sliced thinly
    4 c. sugar
    salt
    2 c. vinegar
    2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Mix cucumbers and onions together and sprinkle with salt.
    Let stand 2 hours; drain.
    Mix vinegar, sugar and celery seed together.
    Stir until dissolved (don't heat).
    Pour over sliced pickles.
    Put in covered containers in refrigerator.
    Ready for use in 24 hours.
