Potato Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. potatoes, cooked
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. melted shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine all ingredients.
Mash or dice potatoes.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Mix thoroughly.
Divide into 12 portions; shape into balls.
Chill.
Drop into one of the following liquids which is gently boiling:
stew, turnip green pot licker, beef broth, chicken broth, pork broth, water or whatever you have.
