Nettle Tonic - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. young nettles
boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Wash the nettles well in several waters, wearing protective gloves.
Put them into a saucepan and cover with boiling salted water.
Cook very gently on top of the stove for a half hour. Strain and drink a tumblerful, hot or cold, first thing in the morning.
Guaranteed to put roses in your cheeks and a glint in your eye.
Not pleasant, but you must suffer to be beautiful.
When cooked, they taste like spinach, only more delicate.
They are included in the diet of race horses and greyhounds.
