Golden Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar (optional)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. shortening (I use oleo or butter)
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients together.
    Add shortening.
    Cut together with pastry blender or use two knives.
    Add egg and milk.
    Mix until blended well.
    If you overmix, it will not be as tender. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
